Lab Introduction
You and your team will be acting as if you were engineers by applying your understanding of the concepts of conduction, convection and radiation to a design challenge: To design and build devices that keep one can of water as warm as possible, while cooling another can of water as much as possible. The cans will be filled with water that is at about 35 °C, which is very close to human body temperature. For 30 minutes, you will monitor the temperatures in each of your cans, recording the temperatures every five minutes. At the end of the 30 minutes, you will determine how much the temperature changed in each of the cans. If you really understand what you learned about conduction, convection and radiation, then the temperature in one of your cans should change very little, and the temperature in the other can should decrease a lot. |

Directions:
- With your assigned partner(s), find somewhere to sit where you can work without distractions.
- BOTH of you should open your laptops to this page.
- Next, ONE of you should log into Google Docs and start a new document labeled Heat Loss Project.
- SHARE this with your partner (ask them for their email) AND Miss Christman- [email protected]
- Both of you should now open the Google Doc.
- Next, one of you should open up Procedure buttoN above.
- Work together on one laptop to copy and paste the questions into your Google Doc.
- Work together to answer the PART 1 questions ONLY in complete sentences.
-9 questions-- in your version you will delete the links as they are there to help you find the answers
